Something about an octopus taking me out to dinner? The usual.

No way. [ She makes a face. ] Too handsy.

[ BADUMP-TSH. ]

I fucking walked right into that one.

[But she's giggling.]

... Hey, I changed my mind about cocoa. Let's have cocoa.

Aye aye, cap'n!

[ She hops up to prepare some. It's funny how waking up to total chaos can make you feel better about some things. ]

[tucky]

Want me to help?

[Not that making cocoa is a labor-intensive project.]

[ichoosefight]

You want marshmallows? They're somewhere in these cabinets, I think.

[ The cabinets aren't actually that full, so they shouldn't be hard to find while the milk is heating on the stove. ]

[tucky]

I want a whole lot of marshmallows, Steph; I really do.

[She follows her into the kitchen, peering curiously at the stove. She'd been picuring something from an instant microwavable mix.]

You make it with milk?

Yeah, it's always better that way! You have to be careful not to burn it, though. Burnt milk is the worst.

[ There are totally a pair of cocoa mix packets on the counter, next to a pair of mugs. ]

I don't think I ever tried boiling milk before.

[ichoosefight]

It's just as bad if you burn it in the microwave, so I try to be careful.

[ In fact, she stirs the pot to make sure there isn't any milk burning on the bottom. ]

[tucky]

We made it with water at home. It was cheaper.

[ichoosefight]

We only made it on special occasions. So now I'm older and we don't have to worry so much about buying milk, I have it all the time.

[tucky]

Where'd you get it? Did you ask the Admiral for it?

[ichoosefight]

Yeah. Little stuff like this he has no problem handing out.

[tucky]

I hate asking him for stuff. I still do it sometimes, but I fucking hate it.

[ichoosefight]

Yeah? Why's that?

[ She pokes at the milk on the stove and, satisfied it's hot enough, pours two mugs of hot cocoa. ]

[tucky]

Because he's a fucking monster and the worst person I ever met.

[ Steph stirs her mug idly. ]

That's why I don't feel bad taking advantage of what nice things we get.
