You can have reasons and still behave childishly. You can be a mature adult and still behave childishly. Hell, sometimes Batman behaves childishly and his M.O. is looming over everyone and being spooky.

Guys like him don't scare me. If he could bench press a semi, then I might be worried.

Then what are you worried about? You could probably take him in a fight.

Right now I'm more worried about you.

I'm scared of him, but I ain't, like, terrified. There's different levels of scared, you know?

You're my friend. You shouldn't go picking fights with inmates, but I'm worried you will anyway. I wish you were better at being respectful.

Why not? I think there's always a big difference no matter what. If I was terrified of Alfie I'd avoid him all the time; I wouldn't ever talk to him.

How about giving people respect for being people?

Well, like... Arthas scares me. I know he wouldn't hesitate to kill me if I looked at him the wrong way. So I know if I fight him I'm gonna use lethal force, because if I don't I'll probably die. Same with Dean these days, actually.

People like Alfie, I figure, he'd probably kill me if he thought about it beforehand, but he probably doesn't go into a fight looking to kill someone. So I'd disarm him and incapacitate him, no big.

People like you, who I know don't want to kill me, are less of a threat. I know you'd beat the crap out of me if you had to, but I'd focus mostly on defense, incapacitate you if it went on too long.

So I'm not scared of you or Alfie, I just make it a point not to make myself a target for no reason.

And if you're scared of more than one person, you really ain't more scared of some than others? It's just, like... scared or not scared? All or nothing?

You're pretty cocky. What if you couldn't beat him? Or someone else?

Then I'd run away, or I'd die. That's just, it's my job. It's what I do. I get in fights with people who are probably going to kill me.

I'm on a boat with a bunch of career criminals with barely restricted access to a variety of weapons that could probably take out a military base if they really wanted to. They blew up half the ship just this week. All things considered I think I'm handling it pretty well.

I just don't like the policy you got for respect. That's all.
