Look, this... this isn't my Gotham. But the layout is pretty much the same, and I still have to help these people. You're welcome to come with me or go on your own, but I have to do this. I want you to check in, at least twice a day. Noon and midnight works. If you get in trouble I want you to get to the top of Wayne Tower. If you can't get to the top, hide near the bottom. If I don't hear from you I'll check on you there. Got that?

I'm fine! [ She doesn't dare check on him because hello, outnumbered 6 to 1, but she trusts him. He can handle this. ]

[ Which was provocation enough for one to pull a gun, which promptly goes flying through the air far from anyone's reach. ]

Seriously? I mean really, seriously? What part of 'Batgirl' don't you guys understand?

[Knocks the titan off of him. Superboy is surprised by how nimble the creature is, despite it's size and weight. It charges at him a couple of more times and doesn't trip like he's expecting.

While he's duking it would with the creature, he can hear the titan's heartbeat go faster and faster.]

Stop! [Catches it by the fist and slams it into the ground.]

I think this guy's going to have a heart attack if he doesn't slow down!

Slow down, you say?

[ Three thugs down, she manages to turn and toss a batarang at the giant, which explodes with a mixture that produces a block of ice around the target. ]

That work?

Uh, yeah, that works just fine.

[The only being that looks more surprised than him is the titan. The look of surprise on his face turns into a grin.]

Light's out time for this guy and the rest of them.

[Thanks to the handy-dandy batarange, he has time to charge up a large concussive telekinesis blast. Nails the titan with enough force to break the ice and send him hurtling into the three remaining thugs. The titan lets out a massive groan before it goes unconscious.]

[ She lets out a long breath. ]

Think that's all of them?

I want to say yes but there's probably more around here somewhere. [Dusts himself off and moves over to her. Rests his hand on her shoulder and looks her over.]

How are you holding up? [Has a small grin on his face.] And yes, I'm aware that I'm the one who got pummeled in the face while you were taking those guys out.

I'm not worried, mister Invulnerable. I'm doing okay, mostly running on adrenaline. Could go for some coffee. [ She rolls her shoulder to work out a kink. ]

Where to next...?

I'm going to study the body of the thug who ingested the titan serum and then report what I find to Tim. You should get some rest because when that adrenaline goes poof...you're going to crash. Hard.

I promise there'll be coffee when you wake up.

Yeah, that's gonna happen. Is there even anywhere safe to sleep in this town?

We can find a place and if you guys exhaust yourself, you're not doing anyone any favors. Working on rest is more productive than working for longer times without rest.

Fine, fine. But help me find someplace to crash, could you? The details of this place are all wrong.

On it. [Places his hands on the ground and feels out the entire block. After a few minutes of focusing, he finds an abandoned house on the outskirts that looks like it has no activity around it.]

Found a place. I'll stay with you for awhile too, to make sure it stays vacant.

[ SIGH. She's going to have to actually sleep, isn't she. ]

I'll check it out and set up some precautions. Lead the way, Superboy.

[Correct.

Scoops her up in his arms again and carries her over to the house.]

What precautions do you want set up? I can do them if you let me know what you want done.

I need to know every escape route, every way in and out however improbable. And then I need motion activated bombs hidden in all of those places, and then I need this cloaky thingy Proxy gave me that's supposed to hide the signals or something.

[ Don't mind her she'll just be giving him a long overdue hug. ]

And I can give Tim, Dick, and Wanda a call to let them know where I am, what I'm doing, and what precautions I have set up in case they need me.

I can take care of all of the first stuff and then I'll clean up the neighborhood. If anyone is still lurking around, I'll make sure they don't want to step foot here again and they warn their friends not to either.

[Hugs her back tightly and lightly kisses her on the lips.]

I'll stay for another hour or so and then come back after a few hours.

Well I'm gonna have to help. Some of those escape routes are for me, you know. [ She gives him another, longer kiss. ]

And you promised me coffee.

Oh, right, that makes sense.

[Supeboy's mind is in "go,go,go" made. Begins to pull away but then stops when she kisses him. If it hadn't been for the kiss, he probably would have taken off to start scoping out exits.

Relaxes into the kiss and his thoughts slow down so they are no longer racing.]

Coffee has become the new Holy Grail. I won't return without it.

[ Mission accomplished. ]

[Grins at her.] I wonder what it says about my life when getting my girlfriend a cup of coffee is an adventure. [Waatches her reaction since up until this point, he's only referred to them as dating in her company and not used the title yet.]
