Look, this... this isn't my Gotham. But the layout is pretty much the same, and I still have to help these people. You're welcome to come with me or go on your own, but I have to do this. I want you to check in, at least twice a day. Noon and midnight works. If you get in trouble I want you to get to the top of Wayne Tower. If you can't get to the top, hide near the bottom. If I don't hear from you I'll check on you there. Got that?

[Finds some paper and draws a detailed map of everything he comes across. While he's not the world's greatest artist, he can visual things so clearly that it's like tracing. Gets everything set up and then returns at exactly twenty minutes.]

All done, here you go. [Hands her the map.]

[ Steph is half way inside an air vent. She hops out when she hears him. ]

Sorry, lost track of time. Guess I should give the others a call, huh?

You are nothing if not thorough. [Nods.] Yeah, let them know what's going on and I'll go set up a spot for you to sleep in.

I was just gonna curl up in a corner, but that works too.

[ COMM LINK POWERS, ACTIVATE. ]

You're not sleeping in a dirty corner. [Shakes his head at her and goes about fixing the couch up. Tracks down a couple of blankets, a pillow, and uses his t.k. to dust off the couch pillows.]

You sound like my mom. [ In a good way. She flashes him a little smile. ]

You're staying, right?

[Flashes her an amused look and takes a seat on the couch.]

Until you fall asleep. I'm going to take off for a few after that but I should be back by the time you wake up.

[ And, of course, in the interest of being a manipulative girlfriend, she flops down across the length of the couch on top of him. ]

Cool.

Very.

[Picks up the pillow he tacked down and slips the pillow beneath her head. Uses his t.k. to lift up the blankets and tug those over her.]

Now get some sleep.

[ She curls up facing him and closes her eyes. ]

Keep 'em safe for me.

I will. [Strokes her hair until she falls asleep. Once she does, he takes care of any lingering criminals. Then he takes off to get into all kinds of crime fighting shenanigans.

Whenever he does return, you can bet your bottom dollar he'll have coffee with him.]

[ And when she does pass out, she passes out so hard she doesn't even dream. She starts to stir when she hears movement. ]

[Check it out, Steph. Your boyfriend finally has some real clothes. He's wearing a pair of black pants, matching combat boots and a long sleeved army green shirt instead of his containment suit.]

Hey.

[Sets some coffee down in front of her as well as some Eggos.] I tried to find some waffles but I couldn't find any. [Sits down on the arm of the chair. He might not need sleep or food but he looks tired.]

[ She pulls herself up with only a very quiet groan. Sleep. Sleep is good. ]

You. You are the best boyfriend. Ever. [ And she starts chugging. ]

[Reaches over and brushes a few strands of hair out of her face.]

I am going to keep that quote handy for a rainy day.

[ She smiles groggily up at him, then sighs sadly. ]

Almost forgot where we were for a minute. Eggo? [ She sticks one in her mouth and offers the other to him. ]

[Shakes his head.] No, thanks. With my powers in full swing, I don't need any food or sleep.

Though I could use a breather. [Stretches his arms.] I can't believe everything that I've seen and done these past couple of weeks. It's hard to believe only a few months ago I only saw the world through a glass.

You've done good work here. [ But she's taken too much time off already. She starts going around deactivating her warning system and erasing all traces of them being there, still with that eggo sticking out of her mouth. ]

I'm gonna sleep a whole day when we get back.

Don't forget to chew. [Smirks as he catches the eggo dangling out of her mouth. He had already deactivated all of the security devices and traps he set up earlier, he lets her take care of the whole vanishing without a trace aspect.]

You and half of the Barge.

And thanks. [His smirk turns into a smile.] It feels really...good to be able to use my powers in this way. Helping people rather than destroying things or hunting people down. [For the most part, anyway.]

We'll call it a vacation. Should make the load lighter in the cafeteria, at least.

[ She appears to be chewing now, as the eggo shrink away into her mouth. This is a long mastered skill. ]

Helping people for the sake of helping people is nice. Makes you feel good about yourself.

Silver lining, right? [Gets up from the couch and peeks out the window, through the curtains.]

It does. There are a lot of people who need help too. On the plus side, I do think our arrival here has helped out quite a bit.

I can't help but wonders what happens when we leave.

They'll find a way. The Gotham you knew started to recover from that gang war. If we can take out most of the big-bads while we're here, I suspect the same will be true of this city. Not to mention they don't know where they came from or that you're not the Batgirl of this city. The reenforcements probably has them panicking.

It's just. I checked on my mom, and the others. Nobody knows where they went. What if they aren't coming back?

[Gently.] She's like your mom but she isn't your mom. If they aren't coming back then they've probably found a new home to live in. I can't say I blame them, not everyone can do what you guys do.
