Look, this... this isn't my Gotham. But the layout is pretty much the same, and I still have to help these people. You're welcome to come with me or go on your own, but I have to do this. I want you to check in, at least twice a day. Noon and midnight works. If you get in trouble I want you to get to the top of Wayne Tower. If you can't get to the top, hide near the bottom. If I don't hear from you I'll check on you there. Got that?

[ SIGH. She's going to have to actually sleep, isn't she. ]

I'll check it out and set up some precautions. Lead the way, Superboy.

Scoops her up in his arms again and carries her over to the house.]

What precautions do you want set up? I can do them if you let me know what you want done.

I need to know every escape route, every way in and out however improbable. And then I need motion activated bombs hidden in all of those places, and then I need this cloaky thingy Proxy gave me that's supposed to hide the signals or something.

[ Don't mind her she'll just be giving him a long overdue hug. ]

And I can give Tim, Dick, and Wanda a call to let them know where I am, what I'm doing, and what precautions I have set up in case they need me.

I can take care of all of the first stuff and then I'll clean up the neighborhood. If anyone is still lurking around, I'll make sure they don't want to step foot here again and they warn their friends not to either.

[Hugs her back tightly and lightly kisses her on the lips.]

I'll stay for another hour or so and then come back after a few hours.

Well I'm gonna have to help. Some of those escape routes are for me, you know. [ She gives him another, longer kiss. ]

And you promised me coffee.

Oh, right, that makes sense.

[Supeboy's mind is in "go,go,go" made. Begins to pull away but then stops when she kisses him. If it hadn't been for the kiss, he probably would have taken off to start scoping out exits.

Relaxes into the kiss and his thoughts slow down so they are no longer racing.]

Coffee has become the new Holy Grail. I won't return without it.

[ Mission accomplished. ]

[Grins at her.] I wonder what it says about my life when getting my girlfriend a cup of coffee is an adventure. [Waatches her reaction since up until this point, he's only referred to them as dating in her company and not used the title yet.]

One day, some day, I need to see this place when it's not under siege.

Until then, do you want to go look for some escape routes and I'll get started on the other things? Alternatively, I could burrow underground and create a hidden shelter for you with a escape tunnel.

On it. And I'd really rather not be trapped underground in the event that someone decides to set off an earthquake.

Escape routes it is. Do you have any of those things you want me to use handy and how about we meet back up in about twenty minutes?

[ She pulls a handful from her utility belt and hands them over. ]

Put them out of sight, but right by the entrances. Press that little button on the side to activate. Press the button on the other side to deactivate it if you come back in that way.

Neat belt.

[Takes them from her and listens to her instructions. They are simple enough.]

Okay, I'll see you soon. [Plants a quick kiss on her forehead and then he's back into gogogomode and off he goes.]

[ And Steph takes a deep breath, harnessing the last of that adrenaline to find all the little hidey holes that Batman would used if he tried to sneak up on her. ]

[Finds some paper and draws a detailed map of everything he comes across. While he's not the world's greatest artist, he can visual things so clearly that it's like tracing. Gets everything set up and then returns at exactly twenty minutes.]

All done, here you go. [Hands her the map.]

[ Steph is half way inside an air vent. She hops out when she hears him. ]

Sorry, lost track of time. Guess I should give the others a call, huh?

You are nothing if not thorough. [Nods.] Yeah, let them know what's going on and I'll go set up a spot for you to sleep in.

I was just gonna curl up in a corner, but that works too.

[ COMM LINK POWERS, ACTIVATE. ]

You're not sleeping in a dirty corner. [Shakes his head at her and goes about fixing the couch up. Tracks down a couple of blankets, a pillow, and uses his t.k. to dust off the couch pillows.]

You sound like my mom. [ In a good way. She flashes him a little smile. ]

You're staying, right?

[Flashes her an amused look and takes a seat on the couch.]

Until you fall asleep. I'm going to take off for a few after that but I should be back by the time you wake up.

[ And, of course, in the interest of being a manipulative girlfriend, she flops down across the length of the couch on top of him. ]
