Anyone else got the shivers? I liked the Multiverse theory better when it was just a theory. At this point it's just plain existential, and that was my least favorite semester of English. [ And yet she must be recovering well, because Steph is neither cooking waffles nor doodling. In fact she's just sort of sitting around at her desk, spinning the chair idly. ]

I was thinking of going up to the pool, just because, but it's totally creepy when there's nobody else. So who's up for a pool party?

I think the universe wants us to be lesbians. Just sayin'. [ She's not suggesting anything. Just a note. ]

Hmm? Sure.

Just in my room. First floor, room seven.

[Superboy takes his time getting to her room. Even though he knows everything's a dream now, it still felt so real to him at the time. It's there's a part of him that still expects to find her in the condition he saw her at in the dream. If only he had all his powers in tact, then he would have known all along that it was a dream.

At least for him it.

Rubs his eyes to himself focus before he reaches up and knocks on her door.] Hey, it's me.

[ She opens the door pretty quickly and steps aside to let him in. ~~Lucky for him she doesn't have that 80s Superboy poster anymore...~~ ]

Hey. Everything okay?

[Nods.] Yeah, I'm fine. I'm more interested in how you're doing. [Because dream or no dream, reliving something like that has to be rough.]

Yeah, I'm fine. [ She doesn't even have the scars anymore, thanks to Claire. But it takes her a minute to figure out why he's acting like this. ]

Oh. This is about that dream, isn't it.

It is. [Trying to not make it too obvious that he's looking her over but he's not doing a very good job at being subtle.]

Except I know it wasn't a dream for you.

[Has a feeling he knows how things really went, since he didn't show up in her world.]

[ She tries not to look too uncomfortable. ]

That was a long time ago. [ Almost three years, but it feels like longer. ]

Honest, I'm fine.

[Cycles through a couple of different emotions in a very short period. At first he looks down right miserable when she confirms that she did indeed suffer through all of those things.

That misery quickly gives way to anger. His mind goes back to the state he found her in and the man who towered over her, finding pleasure in what he was doing. The anger inside of burns like hot coals.]

You should have pulled the trigger.

[ She flinches a little, her face freezes and she swallows. ]

Wouldn't have changed anything.

You don't know that. Why didn't you pull the trigger and put an end to that monster?

I just... couldn't. It's complicated. Besides, the damage was already done.

What about if you were in a situation like that again? Would you still not pull the trigger?

If I were in a situation like that again I wouldn't need to. I'm a lot stronger than I was back then.

[Looks and sounds frustrated like he often does when he's having difficulty understanding something that seems so cut and dry for everyone else. He could tell that Tim was surprised when he asked why Tim helps metahumans when he's not one himself. Steph sounds adamant about not pulling the trigger no matter the situation.

IS that why he's an inmate and they are Wardens? No, there has to be more to it than that. He doesn't need to kill because he can lift an entire battleship with his powers. Killing isn't necessary for him but he can see how it would be necessary for humans to protect themselves.

Closes his eyes over, fighting past his frustrations. He doesn't want to get into a debate with her it. His shoulders slouch and he sighs.]

I just...I don't want you to die, or get hurt or have anything bad happen to you, Steph.

It's a little late for that. [ That comes out a bit more wry than she intended. More gently now, ]

You barely even know me.

I've only been alive for six months and half of that was spent inside of an incubation tube, I barely know anyone.

Still, that doesn't mean I can't care about someone. [Thinks back to Dr.Fairchild and the lengths he went to protect her, even after she tried to kill him.] You're different than most people I've met.

Who, me? I find that kinda hard to believe.

The people who I consider to be the closest things I have friends back home both tried to kill me. [Smirks.] You've offered to teach me ping pong and share ice cream. See a difference?

Fair enough. [ She smiles a little lop-sidedly. ]

Look, I'm... really sorry you had to see all that. It wasn't exactly my finest hour, and I can't blame you for being worried.

[Shakes his head.] You don't have to apologize, I'm just glad you're okay now.
