Anyone else got the shivers? I liked the Multiverse theory better when it was just a theory. At this point it's just plain existential, and that was my least favorite semester of English. [ And yet she must be recovering well, because Steph is neither cooking waffles nor doodling. In fact she's just sort of sitting around at her desk, spinning the chair idly. ]

I was thinking of going up to the pool, just because, but it's totally creepy when there's nobody else. So who's up for a pool party?

It's a little late for that. [ That comes out a bit more wry than she intended. More gently now, ]

You barely even know me.

I've only been alive for six months and half of that was spent inside of an incubation tube, I barely know anyone.

Still, that doesn't mean I can't care about someone. [Thinks back to Dr.Fairchild and the lengths he went to protect her, even after she tried to kill him.] You're different than most people I've met.

The people who I consider to be the closest things I have friends back home both tried to kill me. [Smirks.] You've offered to teach me ping pong and share ice cream. See a difference?

Fair enough. [ She smiles a little lop-sidedly. ]

Look, I'm... really sorry you had to see all that. It wasn't exactly my finest hour, and I can't blame you for being worried.

[Shakes his head.] You don't have to apologize, I'm just glad you're okay now.

I'm so okay I'm throwing a pool party to celebrate.

Not so surprisingly, I've never swam at a pool but I did sort of go swimming through lava. Invulnerability is handy like that. [At least when he remembers to have it going.]

I think I'd be more jealous if it weren't for the molten rock.

I had a couple of different ideas of how to respond to that, but then I remembered you had a taser, so I am just going to go with yes.

[Partially waves before stepping out of her room and closing the door behind him.]
