08 - Video - Winning bets shouldn't make you feel sick

[ She's trying so very hard to look smug despite the nausea. ]

Today marks the end of my third week here, death free. Pay up, Crane.

[ Filtered away from Crane ]

Being sick doesn't count away from my victory, does it? And while we're on the subject, does anybody have tylenol?

[ No really, she looks awful. Green around the gills awful. She just... hasn't quite figured it out yet. Herpa derp. ]

[Martha frowned and quickly moved over to Stephanie, offering her a hand for support.]

How long has this been going on?

I'm not sure, a couple of hours at least. [ Since around the time the flood was announced, but that had to be a coincidence, right? Thanks, but she'll stick to the doorframe for now. ]

Hmm. [Martha studied the woman for a moment, and then she pulled out the scanner. The scanner beeped and Martha frowned.]

This is so bloody odd. Come on in and let's get some tylenol in ya and see if it helps.

What does it say?

[ She wanders in, though, tempted by the painkillers. ]

It says you're fine, when I can clearly see you're not.

[Martha frowned, because normally the scanner was good about picking up things even in the abstract like the death toll.]

I think I wanna look at you with another scanner, but we'll give ya the painkillers first. A few hours, yeah?

[ Steph frowns too. That can't be a good sign. ] Uh, sure. Can I just go back to my room until then? No offense, but I'm pretty sure the bed's more comfy.

No, sorry, I meant that's how long it's been going on for? [Martha quickly moved towards the medicine cabinet and offered her friend two tylenol in a little cup.]

Where were you when you felt better?

Right, sorry, I'm a little woozy. Yeah, I think that's about how long. [ She takes the tylenol and swallows them dry with a grimace. ]

I was in the stairwell. Do you think that makes a difference?

It might be. Coyo mentioned that every time she tried to leave the Master she was drawn back like a snake... Maybe this is something like that? Which level of the stairs were you on?

Just between the first floor and here. It got worse again once I left the stairwell, now that I think of it.

Hmm. Maybe... Maybe we should take a walk and see if we find where it gets better?

I'd actually rather just go to bed. If it's a flood or something it'll go away eventually, right?

But it also might make things worse. But of course going back to bed is always an option.

I think I can hear it calling to me. My bed gets lonely if I leave it alone for too long.

I think I need to get on a first name relationship with my bed again. I doubt it notices my absence anymore, really.

[Martha grinned at her quickly, and she opened the bottle of tylenol and poured ten into another plastic cup.] So ya have them for later if ya need them, but if ya get worse, you let me know.

Most important relationship you'll ever have. Coffee comes and goes, but beds stick around for at least a day, depending on where you go.

[ She takes the cup with a tired smile. ] Thanks. I promise I won't use them all in one place.
