I still want to have a party. The pool is heated, might be fun. Or maybe decorate gingerbread cookies or something. Anyway it’s coming, whenever I’m feeling better. I’m open to suggestions.

[ When Steph first wakes up her thought process goes a little like this:

What a horrible nightmare. Better stay awake until I’m sure it’s gone.
It was so vivid. I can almost feel where she stabbed me. I feel kinda nauseous.
Huh, this looks like the infirmary.
Oh. This is the infirmary.
Holy crap I died.

She flails wildly in an attempt to roll out of bed and get her bearings before quickly realizing that moving is a horrible idea. ]

[Steph sits in the infirmary for several days, sleeping and eating jell-o and occassionally reading. She feels awful, but she likes to think she’s making the best of it by catching up on some classics. Agatha Christie is someone’s idea of a classic, right? ]

[ Well, as long as it makes Aya happy. Steph adjusts with the pillow under her back until she's a bit more comfortable. For the moment the nausea passes. ]

I have not been to many celebratory events, and am curious as to how this would differ now that I possess my own memories and personality.

There have not been many bad memories I have experienced here. Confusing...but not "bad".

[At most, one that stands out. But that was before her time on the Barge.]

This time? I think it was Beatrix, but stuff started getting a little weird toward the end there. [ There have been others too, of course, but that's in the past. ]

I think it probably messed with everybody. It didn't look like Bea was in her right mind either, from what I remember.

I'd have to talk to her first. This place can do weird things to people. [ It made her boyfriend go on a rampage once. She's not about to judge without all the facts. ]

She didn't seem like she wanted to hurt me when we met before port. It could have just been a case of wrong place and wrong time.

[Yeah, Aya remembers the Kon episode. She was there. Which is why she would not hesitate to understand Steph holding no ill will towards the person who "killed" her, either.]

Oh, it's a turn of phrase. It means if I sit around too long I'll lose some of my usual skills. Gotta stay in pique condition, you know?

Would you not have to return to a state of 'pique condition' before you are able to maintain it?
