01 - Video - Introductions

 Hi, err, everybody. I'm guessing I should introduce myself, right?

I'm Stephanie Brown, new warden on the block. I'm guessing the actual wardening part will come later? Anyway, there's not much else to say about me. So... nice to meet you all, I guess.

Uh, first I think. Can't be nearly as bad as getting used to a college campus, right? Still, I could use the head start.

No, it's a pretty small ship compared to that! But it's really not bad. The first floor has the kitchens, the second floor has the infirmary and the third is the inmate bathrooms. I'm on the fourth floor with the gym--which is a good one, actually. The fifth has the library, the sixth has the laundry room, seven has the art room and eight has... I don't know, a broom closet. Upper decks have the warden-only areas, like the CES--uh, it's kind of like a holodeck or something--and some other stuff.

That doesn't sound too hard. Thanks for the overview. I'll definitely have to check out that gym... what sort of equipment has it got?

No problem! It's a good one. It's got just about everything--weight lifting, a track, various machines, punching bags. Archery equipment, which is my favorite.

Archery? That's pretty cool. They have anyplace more... private? I hate to admit that I'm terribly shy. [ Read: secretive. ]

Well, it's open all hours and pretty quiet late at night or early in the morning.

Good enough for me. Guess I'll have to find something to do until I get an inmate... Maybe I'll check out the library.

The library's a good place. It's got stuff from multiple dimensions/realities/worlds/whatever you want to call them.

Guess some studying might do me good. And here I thought this would be an opportunity to get away from school.

Well, at least there are no homework assignments or grades here, right?

And no sitting through hour long classes. I just get the super fun research aspect.

Speaking of college, you got a ping pong table here? I know it sounds random, but I play a mean game of table tennis.

Well, you know. The Barge makes things interesting every once in a while to make up for it. Give it a few weeks and research time will make you happy.

I'm not sure if there's a ping pong table, but there's a pool table? We could probably find some way to play table tennis anyway, though.

I shudder at the thought.

I feel like it wouldn't work very well on a pool table, but I'm sure we could figure something out. Maybe if we got two card tables, a sheet, something to hold the net up with... ping pong balls might be difficult, but paddles shouldn't be too hard.

But now I'm getting ahead of myself. I'm sure I won't get too bored.

[She laughs.] Yeah, I'm pretty sure we could rig something up if we're desperate. But I don't think it'll come to that--there's usually plenty of stuff going on.

Well if we ever have a slow week, you know who to call. We can set up a tournament and everything.
