Hi, err, everybody. I'm guessing I should introduce myself, right?

I'm Stephanie Brown, new warden on the block. I'm guessing the actual wardening part will come later? Anyway, there's not much else to say about me. So... nice to meet you all, I guess.

So in the course of a couple of hours, you got engaged to Tam?

...Vicki Vale must have been asking her about you. So she made it up. Or something. If you weren't engaged to her at the time, it can't have been the truth. ~~Good.~~ [ This smile is totally not pleased. Not at all. ]

Here I was worried that I just wasn't invited to the wedding.

I'm not--

Look, I don't think - I shouldn't hear about stuff that hasn't happened to me yet. [ENGAGED. WHAT. WHAT IS THIS.] Why would I get married?

Oh come on, Boy Wonder, it was only a couple of hours. It can't possibly hurt that much.

You wouldn't. It would be ridiculous. Terrible plan. You just aren't the marrying type, I think.

So I've been hearing about floods. And zombies, and monsters, and god knows what else, but I've fought all of those before. It's the floods that have me worried.

Yeah, we just had one. Some of them are worse than others. I came in after a pretty bad one. Still haven't heard the details, but. It was ugly.

How ugly? I want to know what I'm getting myself into. I know, big change for me, but still.

There was one where everyone forgot who they were. Mass amnesia. There was...I think a paranoia flood. Then one where people turned into animals. The last was like...a matchmaking flood, I guess.

Sounds like a grand old time. Matchmaking?

Oh yeah. It's a laugh a minute. [NOPE. HE'S NOT TALKING ABOUT THAT.]

[ FINE BE THAT WAY. Not like she wants to think about it either. ]

But nothing particularly dangerous, right? Just annoying?

It gets dangerous. Crane was being a jerk, but he's got a point; there's a lot of death here. And the ports can get ugly, too. They don't always go as planned.

...The probably rarely go as planned.

[ Sigh. ] Alright. Thanks for the warning. I'll try not to die.

Good. I hear the death toll's pretty bad.

[ She shudders. ]

But you don't know from experience?

Just from what I've seen.

[Pause and random segue way:] I forgot one. Sylar knows about the cape and cowl deal, too. He's my inmate.

Did you bring any gear with you?

Good.

Any particular reason you chose to trust your inmate with that little tidbit?

I brought everything I could fit into my backpack, just in case. Never know when you might need whatever endless pile of gadgets Babs stocked the utility belt with.

It's a long story. And a lot of work.

Good. I came back with some of my stuff. Haven't needed it, really, but it's good to keep around.

Any chance we'll need them at ports? That's all I can really think of at the moment.
