10 - SPAM for Tim Drake - Autumn days

[ It's cold out, but not freezing. Stephanie has left the safety of the library, the CES, even stopped stalking the Master long enough to stand on deck, leaning against the rail and breathing in the autumn air. Because that's what it is; autumn air. She's missed it. She hates to admit it, but she misses home. She misses going to school and fighting crime with Oracle and Proxy on the other end of a comm link, and sometimes she even misses the weather. What she really wants is a cup of hot cider, but for now the rustling of leaves and cold air on her skin are plenty. She really needs to get up on deck more often. She's happier than she's been in a long while. Not as happy as she was in the carnival, but close, and it seems like nothing could possibly dampen her mood. ]

There are certainly worse places to be. [ She takes a long swig, almost burning her mouth but mostly just loving that she has hot cider. She puts it down with a sigh. ]

Man, this is so much better than working in the library.

[He smiled a little as he drank.]

Yeah. You should probably stop hiding there.

Believe it or not, I'm actually working there right now. I'm filling in for Arthur. Otherwise the hiding would be evenly split between the library and the CES.

Yeah. Leaves me just enough time to stalk the Master, kick at some leaves, and go to the gym in the middle of the night. Sleep? Totally for losers.

And I've only disagreed out of concern for your well-being. [ She takes another swig, all but finishing the cider. ]

I don't have to head back to the library for a few hours, so I guess it's time for my daily stalking. Seen the Master today?

No, I haven't. It's - [and he pauses, just for a moment.] It's good you're keeping tabs on him.

He's already screwed up. [Tim shifts on his stool, turning to look at her.] Did anyone tell you about Masterworld?

It might've come up in passing?

The barge crashed, a while back. On Masterworld. The Master managed to escape somehow - took Iago and Judas with him, and the Barge followed, but it was screwed up. I don't know how long they spent on the planet, but they took it over. It was a pretty ugly place. So it's good that someone's keeping a close watch on him.

[ She drinks the very last bits of hers and pushes the glass away. ]

I should probably go do that then, huh. I'd hate for him to make break for it while I'm up here putzing around.

Sounds good, [he said, sliding off his stool.] I should go check in wit Sylar. [And other people. Yes. Awkward pause.] I'll see you later.
