10 - SPAM for Tim Drake - Autumn days

[ It's cold out, but not freezing. Stephanie has left the safety of the library, the CES, even stopped stalking the Master long enough to stand on deck, leaning against the rail and breathing in the autumn air. Because that's what it is; autumn air. She's missed it. She hates to admit it, but she misses home. She misses going to school and fighting crime with Oracle and Proxy on the other end of a comm link, and sometimes she even misses the weather. What she really wants is a cup of hot cider, but for now the rustling of leaves and cold air on her skin are plenty. She really needs to get up on deck more often. She's happier than she's been in a long while. Not as happy as she was in the carnival, but close, and it seems like nothing could possibly dampen her mood. ]

[Nothing, you say? But there just so happens to be a former Boy Wonder prone to brooding and arguments on his way to watch the leaves mysteriously fall on the deck. When he steps out, he stops, hands in his pockets as he peers up at the sky....er. At space. Where leaves are falling from. Zero sense, but nice effect. He moves to the rail and pushes some off, leaning over to watch them disappear. Zero sense. Aaand that's about when he notices Steph. Ignoring her is bad manners, right? They're adults. They're civilized. So he walks over.]

[ No. Not even Tim can make this uncomfortable. Her eyes stay closed and she hums happily. They're perfectly capable of civil conversation, they've done it before. Even if the sound of his voice makes her jump a little. ]

[They've totally done it before. A while ago. But just because they're rusty is no reason to freak out. He smiles a little when she jumps, and shrugs, looking up again.] Trying to figure out the leaves, but yeah. Guess you are, too. [It's the humming. Gives it away.]

[ She turns around to rest her back against the rail and watches the leaves fall out of nowhere. ]

Think he does this on purpose?

Really? [He looked around at the leaf-littered deck, and shrugged. It was a little like home, but. Mostly just weird.]

I don't know. It was snowing when I first got here, so...probably.

I probably just haven't been getting out enough. [ You know, what with the avoiding people she tends to fight with. ]

Haven't heard from Sylar in a few days. I take it that means things are going well?

[...Oh yeah, there's a reason they do the avoiding thing.]

He doesn't read my private messages anymore. [But he's not about to offer up that Sylar has all kinds of other access, now.]

[ She rolls her eyes. ] Because he's my friend. I know, big shocker, both of us are capable of making friends.

Yeah, we were, though I don't know why. He's fine.
