72,09 - Reparations

So uh... the flood is over, right? [ Steph looks kind of unsure about this. People are acting oddly. ]

I guess I just wanted to check in and make sure everyone is okay. Since a lot of people said a lot of things that they didn't really mean, and all.

[A bit too hard to dodge - though Steph might notice it doesn't do as much as it should; does send her back, but she doesn't hesitate to get back to her feet, and glance about again for a pole of her own... Maybe some sort of pipe she can tear down...]

ooc: Does the gym have stuff like that?

[ She takes that into account, and follows through with a strong swing of her staff in the direction of her side.

ooc | Probably nothing structural, though there may be practice equipment in a closet somewhere. ]

[She spins a little, smacking into a wall; with a closet. She could see something through the cracked door, though; something that makes her smile. Reaching in, she drew out a wooden staff. Now they were talking.]

ooc: need to stop doing that....... DX

[ Steph flips backwards a few feet and comes back up in ready position. She grins. ]

You know how to use that thing?

Wanna find out? [She readied it, coming forward quick. Faith wasn't the waiting type.]

[ For once Steph stands her ground, ready to block and move in any direction. ]

Would I ever?

[She lunges, tilting her staff as she goes for a glancing blow.... She's broken through a vampire's heart with things just as blunt before....]

[ But she still has to get a solid hit in to do any damage. Not so easy with Steph, who never really stops moving ever. She blocks with the staff, then twists for a hit to her head. ]

[Faith puts some strength into her block for that one - less worried about breaking Steph's metal staff.]

[ And she spins to knock Faith's legs out from under her. ]

[She falls - hard - but works quick to get her legs back under her. Slayers can take their knocks well.]

[ Steph will wait. She's having too much fun to let it end here. And then she'll flip and jump backwards, just in case. ]

[And Faith will charge, raising her staff; Steph's got her respect, at this point - big time - but she still wants to show some of what she can do...]

[ Steph blocks, just because Faith made it so easy, then aims a knee at Faith's stomach. ]

[No time to stop, Faith swings her staff down to try and intercept, and sweep the girl aside, putting almost her full strength into the blow.]

[ She isn't expecting that level of force, and goes flying across the room. She rolls as she hits the ground, keeping a firm grip of her staff as she does, then darts back to her feet in the direction of Faith. Another launched kick in the direction of her chest. ]

Good arm!

Thanks. [Sbe grins a little, shifting the staff and taking a step back to try and deflect.]

[ She rains down a barrage of blows from all sides. ]

[she does her best to block - but some are always going to make it through, and she grimaces, trying to weather out the storm and strike back herself.]

[ In close combat like this, Steph has a big advantage in experience. She knows how to use this staff like an extension of her own body, and it's virtually unbreakable. ]

[Whereas Faith is mostly relying upon her strength - wearing her staff down more and more... she had some training, and her slayer memories - but she lacks much practice in recent times. She can't block as well as she'd like, and once that staff breaks...]

[ She doesn't let up, changing her angle of attack constantly. ]

[Faith was willing to take the knocks she couldn't block - but when her staff broke, splintered ending flying, as the other half struck forward - she pulled herself to a stop, raising her hand to try and grab Barbara's staff.

Sharp weaponry was a no-no for human use...]

[ Steph dodges the flying end, and stops just short of getting impaled by the other end. ]

Oops.

[She tosses it away, disgusted with herself; the look on her face shows it, too. Why did she think she could spar with someone?]
