[And as he's getting everything together to go, he boxes up all the sensors and the remote relay to his security system. Despite the reasons it was actually conceived it actually is useful, and it seems like Stephanie could make the most use of it at the moment.

He knocks on her door when he gets there, doing his usual careful hallway scans to see who's around.]

[ She opens the door with a big smile. Things are going pretty good right now, she's learning a new weapon, and with heightened security and her normal body she feels much more secure. ]

Hey, come on in! Don't mind the mess. [ Clutter is a lifestyle choice. ]

[He smiles, because it's not all that dissimilar to how Jay keeps his room. Only he isn't immediately noticing a lava lamp. Who knows. There might be one.] Hey. No problem. [He steps inside and opens the box.] It should still work fine. The test run was positive.

[ No lava lamps, just Gotham U posters. And maybe some Robin paraphernalia. What? She was fan. ]

Great. So how do you work these things?

[He gives her one of the sensors.] On the bottom there's a little twist switch. There's a red light that'll flick on when you turn it on that's on top. That'll let you know the sensor's active.

Okay... And I'm hoping that turns it off too?

[He actually smiles at that.] You would be correct. I used a phone to make the receiver, so it has options to vibrate and ring if someone crosses the sensors. They just need form a ring and be within range of each other, and anything that passes between the will set off relay. [He hands her the contents of the box.] I hope it helps you sleep a little bit easier.

Thanks so much. [ She's only about 80% sure she knows how to work the things, but hopefully that will be enough. If not, there's always Tim. ]

Where are you going, anyway?

[Tim is good for that sort of thing.] I live in Manhattan, so that's where I'd be headed. Assuming you have a New York where you're from. [Some people didn't.]

Oh yeah, we have a New York. I've found more places that have a New York than have a Gotham.

Don't have a Gotham, I'm afraid. [He tucks a hand in his pocket.] Uh... sorry about what happened with Arthas, too, by the way.

[ She shrugs. ] It's part of the job. Nothing to apologize for.

There's a lot of things people attribute to being part of the job. Being any sort of protection officer is pretty thankless, so you might as well enjoy the appreciation while you can. [He gives her an almost smile. He's going to be glad to be invisible again himself. But he will, maybe just a little, miss having normal conversations. As normal as these conversations get, anyway.]

[ She laughs wryly. ] Trust me when I say I take what little thanks I get.

Is this similar to what you do back home?

This? No... [Thoughtfully. He shakes his head.] This is... chaotic and emotionally connective and bizarrely safe for being supposedly unpredictable. This is very different.

But the protection officer aspect?

I think once you've started, you can't make that part go away.

[ She smiles. ] Truer words have never been spoken.

[He gives her a pat on the shoulder, since he's so great at showing support like that.] Take care of yourself, and if you see the skullfaced shithead again kick his balls in. [See? He's a pleasant sort of guy.]

Yessir. [ She gives him a joking little salute. ] I'll start brushing up on my crotch kick.
