How crazy are we talking?

Absolutely insane. Check this out: we go to the beach again before it starts getting too cold to enjoy. Except instead of a bunch of people, it's you and me, and instead of a party, it's a date.

[ For all they've been flirting, she's a little surprised to be asked on a date so suddenly. She smiles, more shyly now than in the past. ]

That is pretty insane. I'm in.

[Life's too short to wait!]

[There's just a little relief in his voice. He'd been pretty sure about the signals, but not entirely. She might just be that playful normally!]

[ She is pretty playful normally, but she's just as relieved that he doesn't sound like he took her acceptance for granted. You never really know with guys. ]

I work evenings, but my schedule is pretty flexible.

[Ha ha ha ha noooo, he couldn't imagine taking acceptance for granted for something like this in a million years. He's struck out waaay too many times in life for that!]

Then let's hit it up, say, two days from now, around 10 so we can get some swim in and then eat? And then more swim and so forth.

Sounds perfect.

[ "And so forth", yes, gotta make sure they leave plenty of time for that. Does she have any nice clothes for a date that don't scream "picked by the host club"? ]

I'm still in the starter apartments, but I can meet you somewhere if that's easier?

[Hey, he intends to wear the same thing he always wears. Because he looks good in it. Sure, his replacement t-shirts aren't Armani, but they have the same flair about them.]

Well, it's not like I can wow you by picking you up in the world's most awesome care, not that I'm bitter about that. Want to meet up at the beach then?

[That's nice and neutral. They can travel together for food, get her back on time for work if necessary, and it doesn't obligate her or imply anything.]

[ It's true, and a carriage would be a little much. Camelot is so much smaller than she's used to, it's nice to be able to walk everywhere and not worry about getting mugged. ]

Well, some really smart and clever person did pick a pretty much perfect location for beach fun, so how could we possibly do any better than what they already came up with?

[ What? No, genuine compliments are clearly against the rules! Making people blush is supposed to be her job. ]

Well, then, I guess we have a plan!

[ So much for a counterattack. ]

[Morgan is a martial artist, and everything is martial arts -- including flirting and conversation!]

[ She has been successfully disarmed. How do you flirt without teasing? She isn't sure. ]

[ yeah she's gonna need to get some practice in before this date. ]

hi! things have been practically normal around here lately. you? I still live at the inn most of time

Not too bad. I got sick with that magic flu last month, but I'm doing much better now.

[ Since she's already in the lobby, she'll find a spot to wait where Steph can find her easily. ]

[ She would keep texting, but she's actually out at a cafe and she never mastered texting while walking. She makes it in almost exactly five minutes. Getting to and from coffee sources is almost an art form.

She waves when she spots Amy. ]

Hey! Happy holidays.

[ Once she spots Steph, she returns the wave with one hand, the other hand holding a basket of goodies. ]

Hey there! Happy holidays! [ With a smile, she holds up the basket. ] This is for you!

[ She grins at the treats, though it's a bit sheepish. ]

Wow, thank you! I feel bad, I didn't get anything for you.

[ She barely got anything for anyone. Her family was never big on gifts. ]

[ Amy waves it off dismissively. ] Nah, don't worry about it! I don't give my friends gifts for anything in return. I just want you to enjoy them.

Well, I still wish I'd gotten you something.

[ She reaches out to take the basket and go in for a hug. ]

[ With a smile, she returns the hug. ] This is fine.

[ Delivered on the appropriate date is one (1) bottle of top shelf whiskey and two (2) knuckle dusters emblazoned with the Oda mon, along with a card ]

"The first is for your eggnog. The second is for some poor sap's noggin. Ha!"

Soooo, we gonna talk about what the fuck happened?

[ She doesn't remember a ton, but what she does remember is incredibly embarrassing. ]

I know, I'm sorry... I don't really remember anything after the ambush. Mostly I remember being really, really angry. I don't know why or about what, but I'm 99% it wasn't anything to do with you. It was like PMS x10 million. I got a bit roughed up, but nothing broken. What about you though? I didn't actually attack you, did I?

Bunch of folks got turned into them, then infected with whatever got you. Rage zombies.

I kinda freaked out. Had a trauma response. Girlfriend rescued me, or I'd probably still be in a fugue state.

oh god. I'm sorry, I wish I could have been there for you... how are you feeling now? I know that kind of thing can stick with you for a while

I'm mostly okay. Couple rough nights, but I'm fine overall.

Having a literal knight in shining armor come save me by busting through a window is a pretty good reminder that I'm safe.

I can imagine. You never actually told me who you're dating, you know?

Can't say I do. We'll have to all get together some time.
