[ Steph is definitely waiting outside the door. ]

[Seeing her, Claire stops running just before, a few steps, pretending to calming walk despite Steph seeing her. She tries to hide her smile, failing horribly.]

[Too excited, she bounced on the balls of her feet.] So, tellmetellmetellme!

[ She holds the door open. ]

I want to at least pretend I'm not squealing like a little girl out in the hallway.

[And she scoots into Stephanie's room, giving her this look that screams "WELL?!?"]

[ She closes the door and takes a deep breath. ]

I kissed Superboy in the pool, well he kissed me first and then I kissed him back and now we're dating!

WHAT?! [She happily screeches, playfully smacking her on the bicep.] OhmyGod, details, details!

Okayokayokay. So you met Superboy from my world, right? Kinda a jerk. So when this Superboy showed up I was curious. And his first day, everyone's confusing him with someone else, I figured I'd just lend a helping hand. And he starts flirting, and I start flirting back mostly because I'm sure Tim is watching and it'll totally weird him out and I want to see his face. Only then we keep flirting, and it's fun because he's nice and cute and funny and I think maybe I kinda like him. And then that dream stuff happened and I'm still kinda pissed about that because hello, personal information much? I told you about what happened with Black Mask because I trust you, and then suddenly random people are thrust into my nightmares? Not cool. Only Superboy was there and he totally was cool and he just sort of... made everything better, you know?

So when I said I was having a pool party he decided to come check on me because who wouldn't be freaked out after seeing all that, and it's just... really, incredibly sweet. And then we were in the pool and we were just messing around and then we were kissing. And then we kept kissing. And now we're meeting again Friday for waffles and presumably more kissing and now we're dating!

[ Breathe, Steph, breathe. ]

[She's too excited to sit still as Steph dishes it out, hands clasped under her chin the entire time and eyes big enough to fit saucers into them. Her cheeks may hurt tomorrow from all the smiling.

She is all giggles and girly noises, gushing:] Gah, Stephanie, that's so flippin' awesome! I'm happy for you, he seems so sweet. We've been working together in the gym and he's been such a bug help, like, you've no idea. Eeee, so have you told anyone else??

No, it just happened! You're the first. Have I ever mentioned how long it's been since talking to guys actually worked for me? Because it's been a while.

[ She flops happily onto the bed. ] Ohmygosh I have a boyfriend.

I better be the first, [she chirps, hopping on the bed next to her and continuing to bounce, playfully shaking her shoulder.] You have a boyfriend! Who else will you tell? Can I say anything or is this hush-hush? You have to let me tell Jesse!

I dunno! [ She laughs. ]

Tell him, I guess. I'm still just hoping it'll work out, you know?

Me, too, I'm soso happy, Stephy. [Sideways squueze.] But hey! [She draws away, super serious and holding up one finger.] NO slacking on BFF nesting time, got it? I get that at first, he takes precedence with your time, but I was here first.

[ Steph gasps, mock hurt. ]

I'm surprised! You think so little of me.

[She holds up her hands in defense.] I'm just sayin'.

[Sneaks a smile.] What are you guys going to do for the first official date?

Waffles. [ And kissing. ]

Maybe movies?

I know waffles, I meant more along the lines of intimacy. [She elbows the other girl twice, making a 'eh? eh?' noise.]

[ She chokes a little. ]

Excuse me? After the life I've had? I'm waiting as long as I can.

Well, I didn't mean sex, you jerk. Ugh, never mind, but you better fill me in later, got it? Juicy, girly gossip, I need it.

[And it's then that her smile falters just a tad.] Speaking of boys and crushes and stuff, I need advice.

Well jeez, be more specific will you!

[ She laughs, but stops when Claire's smile fades. ]

Yeah, what's up?

I don't mean to ruin the moment or anything, I'm just kind of at a loss on this one. If someone else had feelings for you and you knew this...do you tell your boyfriend? Or will it only cause trouble? But then, if they find out, does that mean you tried to hide it or...yeah.

[ She hums thoughtfully. ]

I dunno, I don't think it should be important. Unless you're worried about him trying something. It's not like you have feelings for him, is it?

I don't, no. Not like that. I care about him, just like I do about you. I love you guys as friends, as family. But is it okay to still be friends with him? Am I allowed to still hang out?

[She never really had this situation happen before. : / ]

I don't see why not, unless he decides he just can't stand being around you.

[Nods agreeably.] Alright. Yeah. And delayed reaction, but he'd never try anything. He's way too...[Rorschach.] Yeah. No, not happening.

[She touches her knee.] Thanks, Stephanie.
