43 - Video - Don't you dare say you're sorry.

[ Steph has an epic bruise on her face, but it doesn't seem to be bothering her. The angle is a little odd, mostly because she set the communicator up on her dresser so she could examine the damage to her shirt. Of course, you can't see what she's looking at. The video cuts her off at the chin. She's frowning at the shirt in her right hand before she glances up at the screen, obviously distracted. ]

Has anyone I know died? Not to be blunt, but I wasn't exactly looking for friendly faces in the infirmary.

[ Now she's put the shirt down on her bed and picked up the communicator so that she might join the shirt, lounging against the pillows with a very concerned look on her face. ]

Are you okay? Are you... you know, you again?

In general, yes, but I didn't see much of it. I was keeping an eye on Loki in Zero.

We didn't have much of a choice. He was attacked with those... nano-thingies, like Martha was. Except he was in excruciating pain. The Zero cells were the only things that relieved it.

And since he was all but helpless while there, I watched over him. I will miss being his warden.

I am rather happy to have finally decided to stay. I will get to see what kind of warden he turns out to be. [He smiles, still tired, but obviously quite proud and happy.]

Talking to Monsieur Wayne during that flood helped me quite a bit.

And I'm hoping Loki won't mind a delayed celebration for his graduation since our first attempt was marred by his being attacked.

Nothing I didn't need to hear. It's all public. [No, he will not use his rudimentary "computer" skills to link it for her, because he's still embarrassed, even though Stephanie is one of the few people he told personally.]

He reminds me very much of Sir Percy.

Oh, I hadn't realized. He is as trustworthy as he seems, yes?

Oh, absolutely. He can be a jerk sometimes, but he means well. Mostly.

[He seems a little taken aback by the "be a jerk" assessment.]

If by that you mean that he can be harsh, I saw a little of that. [And completely thought he deserved it.]

Buuut he always seems to be totally right, right? He knows it, too.

He was in my case. I don't know if he is all the time. [Some of the same could be said about Percy, at times. Just try being Chauvelin.]

Mmmm, most of all the time. I think he's been wrong once or twice. Not that he'd ever admit it.

Has he been harsh with you, because of his son?

Not- well- It's really complicated. But he can be pretty harsh to anyone, really.
