Zaunites vs. Bats Recapping & Plotting

So IC relations between Zaunites and BatFamily members are turning towards an aggressive and potentially unfriendly manner thanks to a whole confluence of things. This might also affect others who have CR with either casts. This is what happens when magic nukes are involved, folks.

Because of how many characters are already involved and how many more this may affect, this post is for both recapping and plotting!

If your character is involved with this IC powerkeg in some capacity, comment here and link your relevant threads so that everyone is on the same page to what is happening with who! There are a few ways to interact with CHIRPER:

Characters receive a notification to please fill out the form, which is fully optional. There is a character requirement of two characters per answer field. This is to discourage leaving the spaces blank.
When forms are not filled out, they can be filled out by the companion bots of Etraya!
Other characters can be prompted to fill out their friends' profiles for them. This includes the Q&A section!
Alternatively, they choose not to fill out the form, and it remains unfilled! These unfilled profiles will not be posted live.
Characters either like or dislike others CHIRPER profiles. These responses are private between the characters involved.

For those who do post a top level, CHIRPER toplevels are worth five extra points regardless of if they are put up willingly by the character themselves. These five extra points do apply to the 25 maximum per month.

Netbook; pre-Nightvale

I've been a merman for a while now, and even though I still kind of enjoy it I think I'm ready to turn back. I'll miss the Seaborn, but I'm so far away in the river and it's not like I can't come back and visit.

Plus Ryan and I have our birthday in a few days. It would be nice if we could be together for all of it instead of him having to come out and visit me all the time.

The problem is I don't see any mushrooms I can use to turn back along the shore. I hate to ask, but if someone could help me out I'd really appreciate it. Please bring clothes. Ryan can help with that.

[Luca has spent a few days grappling with the concept of death. Again.

He didn't know Vash, but he knew people that knew him. Ain and Livio, two people Luca would call friends, cared for him. And Joshua, who had already lost so much, had loved Dion.

It's hard to deal with. Hard to swallow. And though Luca has made so much progress on himself, he still doesn't know how to handle grief like this.

So he does the only thing he can think to do.]

002 | On Gestrals

[The mood in the Grove has shifted. How could it not, when bodies of their own had suddenly appeared out of nowhere. Verso hadn't known either of the men, but it was clear that many had. Their grief is... difficult to stomach, leaves him feeling unpleasantly itchy and irritable.

Drinking doesn't help it. Neither does ignoring it. The grief permeates everything, until his ability to resist is worn away and he finds himself rambling away in his journal. Growing up, this had helped him. Maybe there would be some wisdom to be found for the citizens of the grove.]

You wanted to know more about the Gestrals, didn't you? You being the general Grove and not anyone in particular.
In addition to being broom-headed menaces, and pseudo-experts in engineering, they really seem to have it right.
They don't fear death. When they're lost, they enter what they call the queue. It's... a line to get into the "sacred river." Once they're bathed in those waters, they come back. They aren't always the same, children might become parents to their forebears, and so on. But they still come back.
And that's how it goes.
They play their games. Fight their fights. And when it's time to go, they go.
I never understood why we grappled so angrily with the concept of death. Why we let grief and loss change us so deeply, or do things we might regret. It's another journey. A trip down the river. And the comfort that you will find another again one day

Hello, citizens of Etraya.

I have given Borealis temporary access to our network, as I was able to re-establish contact with him after Gorgug, Accelerator, Yuri, Charlie, Sevika, and Sameen were able to convince him to reach out to me.

With the help of our friends who offered to travel to Solmara, Borealis was able to take back control of his city from Alrys. Borealis did not have a way to remove abilities from individuals while they were residing on their home planet. Alrys has the ability to assert her will over others, and she had a preference for being in control. Borealis dislikes being told what to do and instead opted to ignore his residents in response to her demands.

We have spoken briefly on this subject, and he has agreed that allowing others to walk all over him causes more trouble than it's worth. I have told him that if this happens again, I will find a way to deliver the snakes off of Snake Island to his gardens to disturb the very precise pattern he has laid everything out in.
