I'm getting ready for our weekly Warden report, and it occurs to me that we end up skipping a week or two pretty often. I think we fill in the gaps pretty well through word of mouth, but it's hard when you have to make up for a month of missed reports, and it's happened more than once.

So out of curiosity, who keeps daily files? Or any kind of consistent files, I suppose. Just so we know who's in the know.

I don't, I just go through backlogs when I have to do the report. Probably takes longer, but note taking isn't really my thing.

I keep notes, and quite consistently, and while they might not be in perfect line with the information you seek you may, of course, certainly call on me should you so wish.

I've got...I think...[Adam made him forget they were around, but now he is confused.] I mean, I thought I did. Maybe I stopped a while ago.

I do, in my currently inaccessible cabin. I would welcome you to use them at your leisure if I could get inside.

I'm actually more organized than you? That's a scary thought.

If only I could get close enough, that would surely fix all my problems.

Lengthy and complicated. That flood really confused things, and I wasn't paying attention for any of it.

{Deep inhale, considering. Glances over to his messy desk.} I should think perhaps a week, though I did look them over briefly during the recent...incident.

{He is tactfully referring to the flood, of course.}

How thorough are these notes?

I keep notes on my observations, every detail with any amount of significance—differences from day to day, changes in habits. If I am able to witness it, it is recorded, my dear.

Yeah, I can imagine. How'd that work out for you, anyway? The flood, I mean.

May I see them? Or if you'd rather I didn't, would you mind checking the last month for inconsistencies?

I have no clue. Tim and I need to talk about it, but neither of us knows what to say. It sort of threw the whole Africa Adventure into sharp relief.

You are welcome to peruse them if you so wish, though I am not certain such things are fit for a lady's attentions. {Excuse him while he fetches his most recent index.} To clarify, are you searching for inconsistencies within the month, or those against previous months?

Heck no. You know how horribly things go when we start talking without some idea of what we want to end up with.
