32 - Video - But that was when I ruled the world.

[ Steph seems to be in a pretty good mood today. Wonder why... She's grinning at the screen as she sets up her iPod so the headphones are close to the microphone and turns the volume all the way up. Not earsplitting for the network, but loud enough that she can listen too. ]

Okay, I know this one was on the radio a lot back in the day, but I also know that a lot of you have probably never heard it, and what can I say? I like the song. Anyway, I figure what with the new people and the recently injured people and the people I'm still angry at Blonsky we could use a little pick-me-up. It's not a happy-go-lucky song but it's still fun!

So, without further ado, this is Viva La Vida by Coldplay.

[ She turns the song on, and then you can really tell she's in a good mood because she seems to be mouthing the words into the background- did she forget the video was on? Maybe. She's sort of dancing in her seat at her desk and playing air piano along to certain parts of the song. When it ends she shuts off the iPod before the next song can play. ]

I've got more music if anybody's interested. A whole CD or two worth of classical music my mom managed to accidentally load too. Actually, Claire has that iPod speaker, we could have a dance party. I'm sort of in the mood for a dance party.

...That is a good song.

I can actually join in this now. Except now I have no idea what to play.

[identity profile] ichoosefight.livejournal.com 2011-01-06 06:49 pm (UTC)(link)
You got an iPod? What kind of music do you have?

[identity profile] kingfor-aday.livejournal.com 2011-01-06 06:52 pm (UTC)(link)
No, I got an eight track. Which is... I guess, a seventies version of the same.

It's... mainly a lot of ABBA. It came with it. I'm not sure what to make of that.

[identity profile] ichoosefight.livejournal.com 2011-01-06 06:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Wow, that is old school.

...I think somebody wants you to be a dancing queen.

[identity profile] kingfor-aday.livejournal.com 2011-01-06 07:00 pm (UTC)(link)
I am old school, remember. They... actually, are from after me, believe it or not.

...that is a slightly worrying thought.

[identity profile] ichoosefight.livejournal.com 2011-01-06 07:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Well I'm impressed.

I'd take it as a compliment.

[identity profile] yeehawkiller.livejournal.com 2011-01-06 09:02 pm (UTC)(link)
What the fuck is this eurotrance piece of shit?

Not everyone wishes to be inflicted with this rubbish.

[identity profile] ichoosefight.livejournal.com 2011-01-06 09:05 pm (UTC)(link)
They don't have to listen. There's an off button, y'know.

[identity profile] ichoosefight.livejournal.com 2011-01-06 09:06 pm (UTC)(link)
It's called "music".
subtlescience: (Angry // Don't Lie To Me)

[personal profile] subtlescience 2011-01-06 09:06 pm (UTC)(link)
So there is. Use it.

[identity profile] ichoosefight.livejournal.com 2011-01-06 09:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Why don't you? I'm enjoying myself.

[identity profile] yeehawkiller.livejournal.com 2011-01-06 09:13 pm (UTC)(link)
It's pop.

[Severen had the tendency back home to shoot the car stereo when WHAM came on.]

[identity profile] ichoosefight.livejournal.com 2011-01-06 09:15 pm (UTC)(link)
[ She checks her iPod. ]

Technically it's listed as "alternative".

[identity profile] yeehawkiller.livejournal.com 2011-01-06 09:22 pm (UTC)(link)
An alternative to listenable music?

[identity profile] ichoosefight.livejournal.com 2011-01-06 09:26 pm (UTC)(link)
What do you listen to? Heavy metal? [ He seems like the heavy metal time. ]

[identity profile] whattheytellyou.livejournal.com 2011-01-06 09:39 pm (UTC)(link)
I've never heard of Coldplay.

[Which isn't saying much, considering she lives in a tent for a good portion of each year.]

[identity profile] ichoosefight.livejournal.com 2011-01-06 09:44 pm (UTC)(link)
They're a band from the 90s. This is my favorite song by them.

[identity profile] whattheytellyou.livejournal.com 2011-01-06 09:48 pm (UTC)(link)
The year's 1995 for me. I'm not exactly the most up-to-date with this sort of thing.

It's not bad, though.

[identity profile] ichoosefight.livejournal.com 2011-01-06 09:50 pm (UTC)(link)
They might not have hit the radios for you yet, I'm not sure when exactly they did.

Interested in more music?

[identity profile] whattheytellyou.livejournal.com 2011-01-06 10:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Sure, why not.

[identity profile] ichoosefight.livejournal.com 2011-01-06 10:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Let's see, what else have I got...

[ She turns on this song (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cYF0qU5WSew), swinging her head in time. ]

[identity profile] whattheytellyou.livejournal.com 2011-01-06 10:29 pm (UTC)(link)
That's kind of pretty.

[She's more interested in how Steph's playing this music and suspects it has something to do with the mention of iPod speakers, since she doesn't see a CD player or tape deck.]

What's an iPod?

[identity profile] ichoosefight.livejournal.com 2011-01-06 11:23 pm (UTC)(link)
[ She holds up a purple iPod nano so she can see. ]

It's like a tiny computer that holds music.

[identity profile] whattheytellyou.livejournal.com 2011-01-06 11:27 pm (UTC)(link)
[She looks mildly intrigued, and pretty impressed. Not every Tom, Dick, and Steph has a personal computer in 1995.

Ah, the age of technology.]

That's amazing. How does it work?
