32 - Video - But that was when I ruled the world.

[ Steph seems to be in a pretty good mood today. Wonder why... She's grinning at the screen as she sets up her iPod so the headphones are close to the microphone and turns the volume all the way up. Not earsplitting for the network, but loud enough that she can listen too. ]

Okay, I know this one was on the radio a lot back in the day, but I also know that a lot of you have probably never heard it, and what can I say? I like the song. Anyway, I figure what with the new people and the recently injured people and the people I'm still angry at Blonsky we could use a little pick-me-up. It's not a happy-go-lucky song but it's still fun!

So, without further ado, this is Viva La Vida by Coldplay.

[ She turns the song on, and then you can really tell she's in a good mood because she seems to be mouthing the words into the background- did she forget the video was on? Maybe. She's sort of dancing in her seat at her desk and playing air piano along to certain parts of the song. When it ends she shuts off the iPod before the next song can play. ]

I've got more music if anybody's interested. A whole CD or two worth of classical music my mom managed to accidentally load too. Actually, Claire has that iPod speaker, we could have a dance party. I'm sort of in the mood for a dance party.

...That is a good song.

I can actually join in this now. Except now I have no idea what to play.

You got an iPod? What kind of music do you have?

[identity profile] kingfor-aday.livejournal.com 2011-01-06 06:52 pm (UTC)(link)
No, I got an eight track. Which is... I guess, a seventies version of the same.

It's... mainly a lot of ABBA. It came with it. I'm not sure what to make of that.

[identity profile] ichoosefight.livejournal.com 2011-01-06 06:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Wow, that is old school.

...I think somebody wants you to be a dancing queen.

[identity profile] kingfor-aday.livejournal.com 2011-01-06 07:00 pm (UTC)(link)
I am old school, remember. They... actually, are from after me, believe it or not.

...that is a slightly worrying thought.

[identity profile] ichoosefight.livejournal.com 2011-01-06 07:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Well I'm impressed.

I'd take it as a compliment.

[identity profile] kingfor-aday.livejournal.com 2011-01-07 01:30 am (UTC)(link)
At how old I am?

I think I will, for now. And find some music to fire back at you.

[identity profile] ichoosefight.livejournal.com 2011-01-07 01:33 am (UTC)(link)
...Yeah, I guess so.

I will wait with bated breath.

[identity profile] kingfor-aday.livejournal.com 2011-01-07 01:47 am (UTC)(link)
I'm only twenty six, 1973 or not, you know. Not old, just... old fashioned, I imagine.

[paaaaaaaaaaaaause, switch to video. He fires back at you, straight from the seventies, Slade's My Oh My (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hSZ2JZ6fw88). do not ask why I picked this.]

That... was the first one on this eight track, so there you go.

[identity profile] ichoosefight.livejournal.com 2011-01-07 01:51 am (UTC)(link)
The times they are a-changing, Howie.

[ Hey, it's got Steph's head nodding. ]

Not bad, not bad. This is the only 70s song I have not counting anything by the Beatles.

[ I won't even link you. She turns on Kung Fu Fighting. ]

[identity profile] kingfor-aday.livejournal.com 2011-01-07 01:54 am (UTC)(link)
The Beatles were mainly the sixties, you know.

But I... Kung Fu... I don't know that one. I guess I'm too early Seventies. Most of these outdate me.

But have this one, in reply. Because I really can't get it out of my head.

[And guess what, it's Abba. Knowing Me, Knowing You (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Pg5NMGOlEE).]

[identity profile] ichoosefight.livejournal.com 2011-01-07 02:19 am (UTC)(link)
Oh my god, it's been forever since I've heard that song! And now it's stuck in my head, too.

[identity profile] kingfor-aday.livejournal.com 2011-01-07 02:31 am (UTC)(link)
...I almost feel guilty for it.

Almost.

[identity profile] ichoosefight.livejournal.com 2011-01-07 03:17 am (UTC)(link)
You did it on purpose, didn't you. You're devious.

[identity profile] kingfor-aday.livejournal.com 2011-01-07 03:19 am (UTC)(link)
Damn! You've got me! I was trying to keep my deviousness on a low profile, but... you caught me out. Soon enough, I will make everyone have a seventies classic stuck in their head.

[identity profile] ichoosefight.livejournal.com 2011-01-07 03:33 am (UTC)(link)
You could streamline your plan by playing it over the network, you know.

[identity profile] kingfor-aday.livejournal.com 2011-01-07 01:08 pm (UTC)(link)
That would be more efficient, wouldn't it?

...this place really needs radio.

[identity profile] ichoosefight.livejournal.com 2011-01-07 04:46 pm (UTC)(link)
It does. Or some freaky super-advanced receiving system that accesses radio from all sorts of different times and worlds. We can change people into puppets, but we can't get 105.9?

[identity profile] kingfor-aday.livejournal.com 2011-01-07 05:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Apparently so. We can't get newspapers either. I imagine it's an outside-world thing. Because if we can get radio, someone can make a two-way radio - or just steal mine. And that would end badly.

Personally, I'd settle for internal broadcast or something. We don't even need something super-advanced.

[identity profile] ichoosefight.livejournal.com 2011-01-07 05:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Or that, that sounds good too. I bet the Admiral could get us access to all of the music ever played anywhere in the multiverse.

[identity profile] kingfor-aday.livejournal.com 2011-01-07 05:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, I imagine there's a lot in that jukebox, so I bet he could.
